Ride Do's & Dont's

x
1. Pre Ride brief

Before embarking on a ride in India, it's crucial to attend the pre-ride brief for understanding local rules and regulations. Despite individual riding experience, knowing the do's and dont’s is essential due to diverse road conditions, mixed traffic, and occasional presence of stray animals. Paying attention to the tour leader's instructions helps ensure safety and avoid accidents or untoward incidents.

2. Follow your tour leader

During the ride, maintain a safe distance behind the tour leader, even on that tempting stretch of smooth tarmac! Your tour leader is familiar with the route and potential hazards. Each motorcycle is numbered for clarity, and the leader ensures a balanced pace, navigating varied terrains and local communities to ensure everyone's safe arrival at each destination.

3. Consumption of alcohol during the ride is strictly prohibited

Alcohol consumption during the ride is strictly prohibited for safety reasons, despite the tour organisers organising chilled beers after the day's ride. Riders are reminded to prioritise their health, considering factors like high altitude and daytime heat. Any rider found under the influence during riding hours risks termination from the tour by the tour leader.Safety is a shared responsibility, with both the tour leader and riders expected to remain alert and prioritise safety at all times.

4. Carry the essentials

When riding through remote areas in India, it's best to carry personal items for comfort and safety. This includes any necessary medication like eye drops or nasal sprays for dusty conditions. Additionally, it's recommended to have a pair of good sunglasses for protection against harsh sunlight in the Himalayas and daytime riding in South India and Rajasthan.Riders must carry full riding gear, including a full-face helmet, riding gloves, a ventilated and armoured jacket with optional thermal liner for cold mornings, riding pants, and boots. Being prepared ensures a smooth and comfortable ride experience!

5. Riding Pillion

Before embarking on our rides, it's imperative to ensure proper insurance coverage. All riders are required to purchase insurance covering repatriation assistance and medical expenses on the ground.
